Westchester End-of-Life Coalition (WELC) needs and relies on its volunteers!

All of WELC’s Board Members work actively for the organization on a volunteer basis.  You can help, too!  Volunteer to make a difference in people’s lives:  help advocate, raise awareness, and educate the community about end-of-life issues.

Become a WELC volunteer!

WELC has a volunteer position for you, whatever your skill set and area of interest…

  • community outreach and representation
  • professional writing and oral communications
  • stuffing envelopes
  • grant writing experience
  • research
  • event organizing
  • fundraising
  • and more

Whatever amount of time you can devote…

  • a set number of hours per month for management or administrative support
  • be ‘on call’ for an occasional special need, such as staffing a health fair table
  • intensive time for a brief period to execute a specific project (e.g., a solicitation mailing)

WELC offers volunteer trainings for specialized tasks and community outreach.  Trainings occur several times a year on such topics as:

  • helping individuals complete the NYS Health Care Proxy
  • understanding advance planning for health care
  • Palliative Care and Hospice Care
  • how to start conversations about goals and wishes at the end-of-life
  • useful tools for preparing for the end of life
